Homework #2

Fuzzy has been given the best homework task that fits in with his Unit Of Inquiry: 'A Sense of Place.' He choose a photo of himself at the zoo for the title page.

He is busy reflecting on spaces and places that are important to him. First up he had to reflect on his favourite place at home. He drew, then traced a picture of himself using the laptop. He's nicknamed the computer: Jolly Phonic! hahaha He finished off his painting by using watercolour paints. He also chose two pictures: hanging out with Daddy and Squealy & catching bubbles with me.

The next two pages are about his favourite place in Canberra. So far he's designed his version of CISAC Pool, cafe included. So cute. He seems to be developing into another 'artist in residence'.

Picnics and River Play

Fuzzy Wuzzy
Tim, Greg, Husband Deluxe and Jeanette.
We had the best picnic and swim today down at Uriarra Crossing. Cath brought along her gorgeous pup: Raj and her parents dogs: Frankie and Jonney. The kids loved splashing around in the river with the dogs.

Was the perfect day for it, not too hot. River had heaps water flow due to the recent rains.

We'll be heading back soon!

Raj, Emilie, Jonney, Frankie, Cath and Abbey.

Homework

Fuzzy and String Bean are loving school this year. They are both quite happy to do any and all homework sent home.

So far it's all been pretty low key. With Stringy doing home readers and Fuzzy doing his 'sounds book'.

We spent some time comparing how long our legs are and how big our feet are. They have both grown so much these past school holidays!

Penang Beef Curry

* 2 large brown onions, sliced
* 1 kg rump steak, diced
* 1/2 cup crushed peanuts (whole peanuts are really yummy too)
* 2 tablespoons good quality curry powder
* 1/2 cup condensed milk
* 1/2 cup coconut cream ( I used lite and the whole tin!!!)
* 2 tablespoons fish sauce
* 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
* 2 tablespoons brown sugar

1. Chuck it all in the slow cooker and give it a quick stir.
2. Cook for around 5 hours on low.
3. Serve with basmati rice and some steamed veg.

Had this at a friends and loved it and have now made it at home. So easy. Kids liked it! All good really.

New Art

I was very lucky to score this beautiful piece for our home from the lovely Fran at Willow Patch Quilting. She is so talented. This just looks gorgeous in our home.
String Bean's telly quilt is featured here on Fran's website.

Sleeps in the Car

Taken on two separate trips this summer. String Bean feels the cold, so she packed a blanket in case we used the air conditioning heaps. Squealy on the other hand is a hot bod and sweats heaps, no blanket required!

Empire Strikes Back...

... not much to say with this one. Pretty self explanatory.

A New Babe...

... in arms. What a sweet little man. We had a gorgeous afternoon tea at my favourite tea house today: Adore Tea. Basically an excuse to cuddle Lachie and indulge in a yummy vanilla chai.

Such a lovely afternoon. Chillaxing with the girls.

So Sweet!

My friend Karen popped round on Friday and delivered this gorgeous bunch of gerbera's for me. This really made my day and cheered me right up. They are still sitting on my bench looking stunning.

Once again, thank you sweetie!

Sea Scout in Training

Husband Deluxe has bought a cheapy fishing rod from Kmart and has been taking Fuzzy down to the lake for some quality boy time.

Lake Ginninderra doesn't have much by the way of edible fish.

But they did manage to catch some red fin perch.

These fish are considered a pest species, so Fuzzy brought them home to show String Bean and Squealy.

He was so proud of himself. All good practise before he joins Sea Scouts.
